Overcoming Obstacles

When we go through life, we’re faced with obstacles, and we have to learn to overcome those obstacles if we're going to try to reach particular goals that we have. For me, the obstacles were crutches and braces right out of the chute. That was a first way I learned to walk -- at three-years-old -- was with full braces and crutches. So when I got to school, I was picked that incessantly.
That was an obstacle for me because I wanted to fit in with my peers, yet I was made to feel different. So for me that was an obstacle. Fear is an obstacle. We can let fear do two things: It can spur us on to greater things, or it can paralyze us. For me, I had to learn how to use that fear to catapult my way forward. And that was a tough thing to do.
